Greenville, South Carolina police officer taken to hospital after assault, police say
UPDATE: According to the Greenville County Detention Center, Nicholas Sentell Ladson was charge Tuesday with assault on an officer while resisting arrest.
He remains at the detention center after a temporary bond was set, according to the website.

A Greenville, South Carolina police officer was taken to the hospital after being assaulted by a suspect, police said Tuesday.
Sgt. Diana Munoz with the Greenville Police Department said that an officer approached what she called "a suspicious subject" on Grace Street.
"During the interaction the subject began assaulting the officer," Munoz said. "The officer called for immediate assistance and the subject was placed under arrest."
Munoz said the officer was taken to the hospital to be evaluated for injuries.
No other information about the suspect's name or charges was immediately released.
