Name of SC residents killed in plane crash released
The three people who died in a plane crash in McDowell County, North Carolina, are from South Carolina, according to the North Carolina Highway Patrol. The small plane was found Monday in the Brackett Town Road area off Vein Mountain Road, according to the McDowell County Sheriff's Office. Officials say they received the first call about the crash at 5:54 a.m.Authorities say the plane was found after being reported missing. Will Kehler, Emergency Services Director for McDowell County, said the plane was traveling from Tennessee to Rutherford County, North Carolina.The Federal Aviation Administration says the plane was a Cessna 182. The registered owner is listed as Airstar Aviation Inc., of Chester, South Carolina. The victims were identified as Adam Plummer, the pilot, and two passengers, Scott George and Charles Mather Jr. The National Transportation Safety Board is leading the investigation.
