GIVE OUT PERSONAL OR FINANCIAL INFORMATION. PHONE LINES ARE BACK WORKING TONIGHT AFTER SEVERAL LAW ENFORCEMENT AGENCIES IN THE UPSTATE REPORTED A STATEWIDE OUTAGE. WE KNOW THAT PICKENS, ANDERSON, CHEROKEE AND LAWRENCE COUNTIES WERE IMPACTED. WE ARE TOLD SOME NON-EMERGENCY LINES WERE DOWN FOR SEVERAL HOURS. LINES WERE REPORTED TO BE BACK WORKING JUST AFTER NOON. NO WORD ON THE CAUSE OF THE OUTAGE, BUT OFFICIAL

Update at 4 p.m.Paul Athey with SC Revenue and Fiscal Affairs Office said the outage ended across the state around noon. He said they do not know the cause of the outage, but officials do not suspect any kind of cyber attack or hacking.It did not people dialing 911, just the 10-digit administrative lines to different agency's call centers across the state.Update at 12 p.m.: Pickens County says all lines are operational again. Original story: Several law enforcement agencies in South Carolina are reporting a statewide phone issue.We are working to learn more but here is what we know: The City of Clemson posted the following: "The City of Clemson Police Department non-emergency lines are down. Please call 864-444-3319 or 864-533-6718 for non-emergency situations until we get the lines back up. This does NOT affect emergency 911 calls. The emergency lines ARE functioning correctly."The Pickens County Sheriff's Office posted the following: "All seven (7) digit lines are currently inoperable. We are working diligently to correct this statewide problem. Your patience with us in this matter is much appreciated."The non-emergency line for Pickens County is 864-898-5500.An email to WYFF News 4 from the sheriff's office said: "Currently our seven digit lines for non-emergent communications is inoperable. Our provider has an outage that is affecting other, not all, agencies around the state. 911 is operational and active. We hope the issue is resolved soon."Pickens County said the problem started at 4:30 a.m. Officials said when you call a number that is not working it just keeps ringing. Cherokee County E911 posted the following:"We are currently experiencing phone trouble, along with most of the state. If you have an issue getting through to Cherokee County E911, please call (864) 487-2747."Laurens County 911 posted the following: "We are still working on the issue with our phone lines. 911 lines are coming back up but are still experiencing issues. We have admin lines back up at this time. If you can’t get through on 911, call 864-984-2523 & advise you have an emergency."Anderson County is reporting 911 is still working, but the non-emergency line is not working. That number is 864-260-4444.
