NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) - A man is behind bars after leading Metro Nashville police officers on a chase days after an alleged armed robbery at a Dollar General, according to an arrest report.

Police said officers responded to reports of a robbery at the Dickerson Pike Dollar General on the evening of July 6. The victim told officers he finished shopping and was approached by a woman as he was getting into his car.

The woman allegedly kept him from closing his car door and, according to the report, a man walked over and pistol-whipped him. Police said the woman stole the victim’s wallet and phone while the man put a gun to the victim’s head and threatened him.

The duo then took off in a white Chevrolet Impala. Days later, on July 8, officers were in the Nolensville Pike, Welshwood Drive area when they observed an Impala believed to be used in multiple robberies.

Police said the vehicle was bearing tags that didn’t belong to it, so, officers and a police helicopter began following it. The helicopter observed the Impala driving erratically, passing vehicles on the shoulders and running red lights. According to the report, the Impala was observed being involved in a hit-and-run crash at 4th Avenue South and Mulberry Street.

Officers attempted to make a traffic stop but the Impala continued to flee. Eventually, the occupants of the vehicle ran from the car but were taken into custody after a foot chase. Two people were taken into custody.

One of the suspects, 37-year-old Joey Jordan is facing 11 charges including leaving the scene of an accident, aggravated robbery, theft of a vehicle, resisting/evading arrest and driving recklessly.
