TODAY/TONIGHT -- A FIRST ALERT WEATHER DAY:

Scattered showers and thunderstorms are likely this afternoon and this evening. A few storms from now until 9 pm could become strong to severe. Brief damaging wind gusts and isolated tornadoes could develop, so stay weather aware.

After 9 pm, the severe chance will be done. However, a few weakening showers will linger.

High temperatures today will be in the low-mid 90s. It’s very humid, so the heat index will peak in the high 90s and lower 100s.

Temperatures will drop into the low 70s by morning.

Isolated strong to severe storms are possible today with isolated tornadoes and damaging wind...

TOMORROW:

Drier and slightly cooler weather will build into the area tomorrow. High temperatures will be in the 80s. Humidity will drop slightly as well. Nashville’s early morning rain chance will be just 20%, so most areas will have a dry Wednesday.

THURSDAY & BEYOND:

Another heat wave will begin to develop starting on Thursday. The heat will build further through the weekend with moderate to high humidity.

There’s a realistic chance Monday will end up being the hottest day of the year so far, with triple digit temperatures expected in Nashville.
