TUESDAY -- FIRST ALERT WEATHER DAY:

Tuesday is a First Alert Weather Day due to the potential for a few strong to severe thunderstorms. Isolated damaging wind gusts and isolated tornadoes will be possible with any thunderstorm. The highest chance for severe weather will take place during the afternoon and evening. Southwest Kentucky and northwest Middle Tennessee will have the greatest risk for severe storms.

Tuesday’s showers and storms will develop in response to the remnants of what was Hurricane Beryl passing us by to the west. It should track over southeast Missouri and southern Illinois and Indiana, just close enough to the Mid State that a few storms west of I-65 could be severe.

Despite our storm chance, it’ll be another very hot and humid day on Tuesday. High, 93. Heat indices will top off in the upper 90s and lower 100s.
