Man killed outside Charlotte Pike bakery

Police say the victim was shot multiple times and 20-30 shots were fired.
A man is dead following a shooting Friday evening in a parking lot outside a West Nashville business.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) - Metro Nashville Police said one person was shot and killed outside a Charlotte Pike business on Friday night.

Police were called to the area of 6208 Charlotte Pike for a reported shooting at 6:41 p.m.

Police said the victim, believed to be in his 30s, was coming out of the La Hispana Bakery when multiple people got out of a dark-colored vehicle and opened fire. Police believe the victim was shot multiple times. Officers estimate 20 to 30 shots were fired. The victim exited his truck parked in the parking lot and fled across Charlotte Pike where he collapsed. He was taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center where he died.

The victim’s wife was inside the bakery at the time of the shooting.

Family members identified the victim as 35-year-old Noel Cruz.

There was a large crowd of people around at the time of the shooting.

Police are reviewing security camera footage to gather more information about the suspects.
