NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) – A burglary suspect caught eating food inside a Nashville home was arrested on Thursday.

Police said they responded to a burglary call on July 4 at the victim’s home off Edmondson Pike. The victim said the suspect, identified as Edwin Hernandez-Ponce, had repeatedly entered the home, and during his last attempt, he kicked open the door, causing about $1,500 in damages.

Once inside, he ate food from the victim’s refrigerator, police said.

Hernandez-Ponce appeared to be under the influence, according to police, because he was sweating profusely and talking to himself.

He was arrested and booked on aggravated burglary and drug charges.
