NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) - Showers and storms have moved out of the Mid State. Now cooler, drier air will take over just in time for the weekend.

While we could still see a few isolated showers this afternoon, most of the rain has completely cleared out. Our temperatures will be lower than yesterday, but it will still be humid today. Expect highs in the lower 90s, but it could still feel like the upper 90s with the heat index.

THIS WEEKEND

We finally get some relief from the extreme heat and humidity by the weekend.

The weekend is looking dry and slightly less humid with highs near and into the 90s both Saturday and Sunday. Both days will feature a few clouds but plenty of sunshine otherwise.

NEXT WEEK

Rain chances increase by next week. Monday through Thursday, there’s a pop-up shower or storm chance possible for each day.

We’ll start off the week in the lower to mid 90s but gradually cool things off as the week goes along!

By Wednesday and Thursday temperatures will drop back into the 80s, which will be below-average for this time of July.
