Tennessee girl at center of AMBER Alert found dead

The TBI said she is autistic and nonverbal.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) – UPDATE: Serenity Kinsey has been found dead in Douglas Lake, according to Jefferson County Sheriff Jeff Coffey. Kinsey reportedly liked water and lived near the lake, according to our sister station WVLT.

Kinsey’s body was found by divers not far from her home, according to the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation, which also issued an Amber Alert for the girl Thursday morning.

PREVIOUS: An AMBER Alert has been issued for a 7-year-old Tennessee girl by the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation.

Serenity Alanna Marie Kinsey was last seen at her Indian Creek Road home in Dandridge at about 1 a.m. She was wearing black shorts and a blue shirt, the TBI said.

The TBI said she is autistic and nonverbal.
