Police find truck in hit-and-run crash that left a Nashville business owner critically injured

Police have recovered a pick-up truck at the center of a hit-and-run investigation that left the owner of Smokin Thighs critically injured.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) - On Saturday morning, the Metro Nashville Police Department said they found the pickup truck they believe was used in the hit-and-run that left the owner of Smokin Thighs critically injured on June 19.

Police said the truck, which had been mostly spray painted, was recovered after an officer spotted it in the parking lot of the LaQuinta Inn on Sidco Drive.

The truck, which had a temporary tag, was impounded. Police have not said if any arrests have been made. They said the investigation is continuing.

On Friday, police released video of the suspected truck.

Since the crash, the owner of Smokin Thighs 42-year-old Matthew Carney has been hospitalized. Police said they have not been able to interview him due to his medical condition.
