SMASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) - A longtime general manager and captain for the Nashville Predators have been named to the Hockey Hall of Fame Class of 2024.

The Preds announced David Poile and Shea Weber are now officially Hall of Famers. Poile, Nashville’s former GM and Weber, a former defenseman and captain are joining inductees Peter Forsberg (2014) and Paul Kariya (2017) as the third and fourth members of the Predators organization to be inducted.

Poile joined Nashville in 1997 and spent more than 25 seasons as the club’s GM.

“Poile turned the Predators into a perennially competitive hockey club, being named the NHL General Manager of the Year in 2017 among other numerous honors,” Nashville said.

Weber netted 166 goals during his Nashville tenure which was the most by any Preds defenseman until the 2023-24 season when Roman Josi broke the record.
