Police warn of 'suspicious' people claiming to sell home security systems in Dunn

The Dunn Police Department is warning the public about a "suspicious" group of people who have been approaching residents in the city.

The police department said it has been made aware of a group of people who are approaching homes in neighborhoods throughout the city, claiming to sell home security systems.

"These individuals are exhibiting suspicious behavior and causing many residents to feel uneasy," the department said on Facebook. "They state that are attempting to sell home security systems.

Police said the group has not properly registered their business with the City of Dunn as required by City Code Sec. 11-73.

"Our patrol division is aware of this issue, and those officers are working diligently to resolve it," the department said on Facebook.
