The president's daughter Ivanka Trump made an appearance in Raleigh on Thursday afternoon, visiting the State Farmers Market to participate in a Farmers to Families Food Box distribution event.

The event was organized by the USDA to highlight their Farmers to Families program. However, as is often the case as election day draws nearer, it also served as a campaign stop for President Trump and other Republican candidates.

Trump toured the farmers market, stopping to chat with vendors and even snapping photos.

She spoke at length with Ronnie Lee, member of a Johnston County farming family that has donated produce to the food program.

Trump said the program has already distributed 90 million boxes of fresh food to needy people impacted by the pandemic. Ordinarily, that food would have gone to restaurants, which have also required less produce as a result of the pandemic's economic impact.

President Trump’s son, Donald Jr., was also in North Carolina on Thursday for a campaign event in western North Carolina.
