MIAMI — Tropical Storm Beryl is moving west-northwest at about 13 mph with 60 mph winds, crossing the northern Yucatan Peninsula on Friday. Tropical-storm-force winds extend outward up to 105 miles from the center.

Beryl will move northwestward toward northeastern Mexico and southern Texas by the end of the weekend. The storm is forecast to redevelop into a Category 1 hurricane as the center moves over the Gulf of Mexico before making another landfall near Brownsville, Texas.

A hurricane watch is now in effect for the Texas coast from the mouth of Rio Grande northward to Sargent.
