DELRAY BEACH, Fla. — Drivers experienced heavy delays on Interstate 95 northbound Friday afternoon after Broward Sheriff's deputies pursued two suspects into southern Palm Beach County.
The Broward Sheriff's Office the incident began at about 2:35 p.m. when deputies in Deerfield Beach were investigating two people wanted on a warrant out in Fort Lauderdale for an armed kidnapping.
They located the subjects and attempted a traffic stop near the 200 block of West Hillsboro Boulevard in Deerfield Beach.

Investigators said the suspects intentionally struck a Broward Sheriff's Office vehicle with their car and fled the area heading northbound on Interstate 95.
Several law enforcement agencies assisted in monitoring the subjects as they continued to travel north.
While the suspects were fleeing from law enforcement, their vehicle made contact with other vehicles, FHP spokeswoman Lt. Indiana Miranda said.
Broward Sheriff's deputies said they performed a Precision Immobilization Technique (PIT) maneuver on the vehicle near the Woolbright Road exit on Interstate 95.
Deputies said the two subjects bailed out of the car and investigators took both of them into custody.
The Broward Sheriff's Office said two firearms were located inside their vehicle. No one was injured during this incident. Law enforcement said the investigation is ongoing.
The Delray Beach Police Department and Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office said their agencies also assisted in the incident.
All lanes of traffic are back open after earlier closures.
