Once upon a time, a glamorous gown and some big diamond jewels were about all a celebrity needed to create a major red carpet fashion moment – but nowadays, there's a *lot* more involved. Ever since Margot Robbie embarked on the Barbie movie press tour in a series of head-to-toe pink 'fits and vintage Barbie looks recreated to a T by the world's top designers, a new approach to red carpet style is fast becoming the norm... Welcome to the "method dressing" era, in which top actors are increasingly channeling their on-screen characters' aesthetics to attend big-ticket events.
Case in point: the glitzy Dune press tour, that saw protagonists Zendaya and Florence Pugh very much dress the part in some seriously futuristic and out-there looks. Zendaya, for example, almost broke the internet when she attended the film's London premiere in a robot-inspired see-through metal and perspex bodysuit, while Florence served sci-fi in a silver bustier dress.
And now, as Zendaya moves onto promoting her next film, Challengers, in which she plays a tennis coach, she's swapped futuristic fashion for a classic court-side look:
Attending the Women's Final of the BNP Paribas Open in California with boyfriend Tom Holland, the actress took the opportunity to channel her on-screen character in full tennis whites for the occasion.
But because this is Zendaya, they weren't any old tennis whites... Nope, the look was by none other than Louis Vuitton, consisting of a pleated mini-skirt, tight cropped tee and matching white zipped jacket, all finished off with a pair white trainers and diamond studs. It's giving country club chic, and we're fully obsessed.
Here's how to copy Zendaya's tennis look for less:
