Jordan Chiles is headed to her second Olympics! This weekend, the 23-year-old secured her spot on Team USA during the Olympic Trials, finishing third after falling during her balance beam routine. Jordan rebounded with an impressive floor routine—set to Beyoncé, no less—earning her a repeat spot.

Jordan won a silver medal with Team USA during the Tokyo Olympics, and she’s looking to rack up even more. Jordan could be seen at the Trials cheering on several of her competitors, and even had the sweetest words to say about her now-teammate Simone Biles.

“I love it,” she told People of coming in second to Simone on the first day of the Trials. “This feels like we're doing this all over again because we are, so I'm very proud of her…she is somebody that I'm always going to look up to no matter what it is in life—whether it's gymnastics [or] just life in general.”

But Jordan had her own cheering squad in the form of her family. Here they are watching her qualify:

Who Is Jordan Chiles’ Father?

Jordan’s dad is Timothy Chiles. He’s a senior pastor at the According to His Word Worship Center in Vancouver, Washington. Timothy grew up preaching alongside his father, according to his bio, which also noted that he was the Minister of Music for nine years before he became a licensed minister. His bio also includes this glowing line: “Tim Chiles loves God with his whole heart and he desires to serve God’s vision faithfully and humbly.”

Timothy was actually the one to introduce Jordan to gymnastics. One week, Gina was on a business trip. Meanwhile, Jordan had become so hyper, Timothy decided to take her to a gymnastics gym, according to The New York Times. As a sweet surprise, her family blindfolded her on the trip to the gym—but she thought she was getting a puppy!

Who Is Jordan Chiles’ Mother?

Jordan’s mom is Gina Chiles. Like her husband, she’s also a senior pastor at their church. And she's a huge supporter of Jordan's gymnastics career: In 2019, Gina moved to Texas to accompany her daughter as she trained with Simone at the World Champions Centre, according to the Houston Chronicle.

But Gina isn’t just a pastor: She’s also an author. She wrote the children’s book Dream Big Little Chick, which is inspired by her daughter’s Olympics journey.

They have five children.

Jordan isn’t the couple’s only child—they have five children and six grandchildren. Jordan’s oldest sister is Jazmin Chiles, who owns a beauty and styling company called Hair Goals by Jazmin Dominique.

Jordan’s other sister Jade Chiles Barron owns a wedding planning business called JB Weddings & Events, which she’s managed since 2019, per her LinkedIn.

Jordan also has two brothers, Tajmen and Tyrus Chiles. Tajmen is a supervisor at Frito-Lay, according to Facebook. Tyrus has a daughter and seems to be into motorcycles and music, per his Facebook page.

Her mom, Gina, named her after Michael Jordan.

Fun fact: Jordan was named after Michael Jordan, who is considered the greatest basketball player of all time.

“She is literally in love with sports,” Jordan told CBS KOIN 6.

Gina served six months in prison for wire fraud.

Jordan's previous Olympics journey wasn't easy. On the same day Jordan was set to compete for gold in 2021, Gina was set to report to federal prison, per KOIN 6.

She previously pled guilty to one count of wire fraud. She admitted to stealing from clients and spending hundreds of thousands of dollars on personal expenses through her commercial properties management business, Inspire Vision Property Management LLC, per People.

Ultimately, a judge pushed back the date Gina was scheduled to go to jail so that she could watch her daughter compete, KOIN 6 reports. “Every moment that I watch Jordan is the most amazing moment as a mom,” Gina told TODAY back in 2021. “And so I just am looking at it as not bittersweet, but just sweet, period, that she's here."

Gina reported to federal prison in August 2022. She served less than a year in jail and was released four months early, per KOIN 6.

Her parents are her biggest fans.

Jordan’s parents can frequently been seen in the stands at their daughter's competitions. “Jordan on a imperfect day still SHINES BIG and makes it a good day,” her mom wrote on Instagram in early June. Gina’s Instagram Stories were also packed with tributes to Jordan right after the Olympic Trials.

This support has helped Jordan on her road to the Olympics. “They are still on this journey with me and still making sacrifices,” she told People in March. “This sport is tough on the athletes, but the parents go through every emotion too—especially my mom who cannot watch me without almost passing out.”

Jordan said that her mom has been her “biggest supporter from the beginning.”

"She helped me to remember that my dream was mine and mine alone," she added. "It was up to me to give the power to people who would fuel my journey or to change directions and walk away on my own terms."

Meanwhile, Jordan said that Timothy is “the person I need in the toughest moments because he has a way of comforting me when I feel overwhelmed.”

Congrats, Jordan! Can't wait to watch you compete!
