Keith Baldi

Assistant News Director

Keith Baldi has been involved in local news for more than 20 years, as a reporter, anchor/producer and in his current role as an Assistant News Director at WMUR in Manchester, NH.

After graduating from Holy Cross College in Worcester, MA with a BA in Political Science, Keith got his Master’s from Syracuse University in Broadcast Journalism. While there, he worked at the public radio station as a reporter and anchor.

After graduate school, Keith became a news reporter and weekend anchor at NBC affiliate WBOY-TV in Clarksburg, WV where he covered everything from truck explosions, to politics at the statehouse, to happenings at West Virginia University. From there he traveled back to New England to be a general assignment reporter at WVNY-TV, the ABC station in Burlington, VT. Keith was also the primary political reporter for the station. After several years in Vermont, he again moved – this time to Grand Rapids, MI, where he was a reporter for WZZM-TV covering a variety of topics, including many of the crime and court stories in west Michigan.

After Keith and his wife Angela had their first two daughters, they decided to move back home to the Northeast to be closer to family. They settled on Maine, where he became a reporter for WMTW-TV, the ABC affiliate in Portland, ME. In 2011 Keith was promoted to Assistant News Director for the Hearst Television owned station and ran the day to day affairs of the newsroom. In 2014, he moved within Hearst Television to WMUR-TV as Assistant News Director. At WMUR he also oversees the day to day operations of the newsroom—among other things—helping to make story selections, editing reporter scripts, deciding what live capabilities and locations will be used, and offering guidance on legal and ethical issues in the newsgathering process. Keith also guides the station’s political coverage, including elements of the NH primary process.

Over the years Keith has won numerous awards for reporting, writing and overseeing news teams. He is married and has three children.
