TURNAROUND WITH THE TEMPERATURES AFTER SATURDAY. KEVIN, THANK YOU. THIS IS BLACK HISTORY MONTH AND WE ARE HIGHLIGHTING SOME OF THE STOPS ON NEW HAMPSHIRE’S BLACK HERITAGE TRAIL. THE WARNER HOUSE IS LOCATED ON DANIEL STREET IN PORTSMOUTH, AND THIS WAS HOME TO AT LEAST EIGHT ENSLAVED PEOPLE IN THE 1700S. THEY WERE SAID TO HAVE LIVED LIVED IN A SMALL WOOD ELL AT THE BACK OF THE HOUSE. TWO OF THEM, CATO AND PETER, WERE AMONG 20 AFRICAN MEN WHO SIGNED A PETITION TO THE LEGISLATURE IN 1779 TO ABOLISH SLAVERY. THERE IS SO MUCH HISTORY ALONG THE SEACOAST, ESPECIALLY

As part of Black History Month, WMUR is showcasing spots people can visit along the Black Heritage Trail of New Hampshire.The Warner House is located on Daniel Street in Portsmouth.This was home to a least eight enslaved people in the 1700s.
