Republican presidential candidate Will Hurd shares one reason why he is running for president

What's uh motivating you to run for Preston. Yeah, in the mid 20th centuries, right? Like even during World War One, nobody in the world fought, the United Kingdom would not be the dominant force on this planet. Before World War one, the United Kingdom had 50% of global GDP. Now they have 3%. Nobody would have thought America would be the ones to surpass them even after World War one that could happen to us. And and it's, this is not something that's gonna happen in 20 years. This could happen by 2027. And that's *** very specific time because that's where the Chinese government believes that the last in which they may have to take um Taiwan by force. Uh The reason is by force is because there's *** potential election where what happened to Hong Kong they may be able to do in, in Taiwan that is going to have, that could potentially be the final straw to prevent us from having *** uh um continuing our way of life. And I wanna be able, we literally and I don't have kids yet but, but we're gonna start working on *** family. Um I don't wanna be, I don't, I wanna be able to tell my kids that I did absolutely everything within my power to make sure this experiment we call America continues to exist for another 247 years.
