Rachel Hirschheimer

Prior to joining the team at Channel 5, she worked as multimedia journalist and weekend anchor at WVIR-TV in Charlottesville, VA for two years. During her time at NBC29, she received a first place Virginia AP Broadcasters Award for her report on “Guitars for Veterans.” She also led an investigation into child trafficking throughout Charlottesville.

Rachel graduated from the University of Maryland in May of 2020 where she served as an executive producer of the Left Bench TV, a student-run sports show and reported for Capital News Service, a student-run news show.

During her time at the University of Maryland, Rachel interned for NBC 4 Washington in the sports department and NBC 4 New York in the investigative unit.

She started her journalism career in high school where she served as a reporting intern for the Anton Media Group, a Long Island newspaper.

Outside of the newsroom, you can find Rachel on the golf course, playing tennis, and rooting for the New York Islanders and New York Yankees. She’s excited to call Cincinnati home and can’t wait to explore this beautiful city.
