Anchor

Hi! Thanks for choosing WLWT for your news.

When I graduated from Northern Kentucky University, I thought I wanted to cover news in a big city like New York or Chicago. But after working as a crime reporter in South Bend, Dayton and Charlotte, and covering everything from tornadoes to murder trials to the terror attacks on 9/11, I realized I wanted to work in my hometown.

In 2002, I got a call from WLWT to be a general assignment reporter. For two years, I covered stories all over the Tri-State. In 2004 I started anchoring. Now, every day I deliver the 5pm,6pm and 11pm news. I feel so lucky to be doing what I love in the city where I grew up. It's easy to report on stories when you know the community; when you feel connected to the people and the issues. I care about the same things you care about, schools, safety, politics.

One of the things I pride myself on, is that I'm still a journalist at heart. I'm very involved in our shows and the editorial process. While news has certainly changed over the years with the internet and the 24-hour news cycle, we still fight for stories, people and issues that we believe in and uncover criminal or corrupt activity that would otherwise go unreported. In 2018, I won my first Emmy for best newscast. A year later, my co-anchor Mike Dardis and I were awarded the Edward R. Murrow award, one of the highest honors in TV News, for our series of stories on a fugitive doctor accused of performing unnecessary spine surgeries on hundreds of patients in Greater Cincinnati.

I've hosted political debates, interviewed former presidents and countless celebrities but one of the things I enjoy most is getting out in the community. I love volunteering and helping local charities raise money.

When I'm not at work, I'm the proud mom of three boys and married to my best friend, my co-anchor Mike Dardis.

I hope to see you out in the community. In the meantime, I'll see you on WLWT News 5. Thanks for watching. I hope that if you're not a loyal viewer yet, you'll become one soon.
