Reporter John London in his own words:

"As a news reporter at WLWT, Channel 5, since the mid-1980s, I am considered something of a media veteran in this market.

Prior to general assignment duties in television, I worked as a reporter at various radio stations in Dayton and Cincinnati.

As someone who has been a part of the local scene for more than a quarter-century, I consider it home - a very manageable and comfortable one. I have found this city to fit like an old shoe.

Many of the neighborhoods retain a working-class charm; its hillsides afford views that give one reason to marvel, and the river offers a reassuring link to Cincinnati's heritage.

For me, the job of gathering news information and presenting it on television provides a constant opportunity to stay current and to observe Cincinnati's passing scene.

While it exposes you to the dark and disappointing side of human nature at times, it also connects you, however briefly, to the uplifting aspects of local life: the activists who tirelessly try to improve the human condition, the business leaders who stoke the city's commercial engine and the ordinary passersby who at given times are capable of extraordinary achievement."
