Tuesday, the Big 12 football world descended on Las Vegas for the start of the conference's media day.2024 marks Cincinnati's second year in the conference, who is welcoming four new teams to the fold: Arizona, Arizona State, Colorado and Utah.Expectations are not high for the Bearcats, who are coming off a 3-9 season in their first year in the conference and with Scott Satterfield as head coach. Last week, they were picked to finish 14th - third-to-last in the new 16-team conference.Media day serves as an unofficial start to the season, similar to what spring training signals for the start of the baseball season. Through that lens, it's hard to see one of UC's displays as anything but an unfortunate early season loss.Reporting from Allegiant Stadium, Keegan Nickoson of 247Sports' Bearcat Journal posted on-site photos from media day, complete with UC's helmet and jersey presented in a row of make-shift lockers to showcase the league's member institutions.However, one of those lockers had a minor mishap on them.The name plate above UC's jersey reads, "University of Cincinatti."Thankfully, the Cincinnati was spelled correctly on the jersey.Some eagled-eyed viewers to Nickoson's tweet noticed there's no Big 12 patch on the UC jersey, but Nickoson relieved any fears, saying Oklahoma State and Iowa State - both longtime conference members - also don't have a patch on their jersey. A few hours after Nickoson's initial photos were released, UC's name plate was changed, but not to a correct spelling.In place of a misspelled name plate for the school, punter Mason Fletcher's name was placed on top of the locker. Satterfield will be among Tuesday's head coaches to speak. Bearcat players in attendance in Vegas include defensive back Derrick Canteen, Fletcher, running back Corey Kiner and offensive lineman Luke Kandra, who was selected to the preseason All-Big 12 team.
