The year 2020 was marked by several major news stories, including the death of George Floyd and the global protests that followed. Demonstrations and civil unrest spilled into cities across the country, including Cincinnati, Mason, Montgomery, Loveland, Florence, and more. The social justice movement born out of Floyd's murder reached a level not seen since the civil rights movement.In a WLWT one-hour special, Project Community: Black and Blue, 10 of Cincinnati's Black police officers share their powerful and emotional stories of serving and protecting while Black. Their identity gives them a unique perspective of the relationship between police and the Black community.WLWT Investigative Reporter Jatara McGee sat down with two panels of officers for raw, real conversations about life as a Black officer, last summer's protests, and moving forward as a community. Among the 10 panelists are officers, sergeants and lieutenants.
