More than a week after his debate performance against Republican Donald Trump, calls are continuing to grow for U.S. President Joe Biden to step back from his reelection bid.Biden and his campaign have insisted that despite what has been characterized as a poor performance last month in Atlanta, the 81-year-0ld will continue to seek a second term in the White House this November.Last week, U.S. Rep. Lloyd Doggett from Texas became the first sitting Congressional Democrat to publicly call on Biden to drop out of the presidential race.Now, two Ohio Democrats who are locked in competitive races this November are weighing in on Biden's political future.On Monday, Cincinnati-area Congressman Greg Landsman released a statement, saying in part, "Trump is unfit to be President. He is an extremist and chaos machine who tried to overturn an election, which alone is disqualifying."Landsman went on to say that the stakes for this election could not be higher, calling on Biden to make his case to the American people in a clear manner. "Now's the time for action, but time is running out," Landsman said.Landsman is running for re-election in Ohio's District 1 against Republican Orlando Sonza in November."We need to strengthen our democracy, restore reproductive freedom, and build a tax code and economy around and for working people. And we need to do it with character and integrity, pragmatism, reliability, and bipartisanship," Landsman said Monday.Also on Monday, Ohio Democratic Sen. Sherrod Brown spoke with reporters in Youngstown, saying he is not going to judge others within the party for what they are saying about Biden's future."I'm not a pundit," Brown said. "I've talked to people across Ohio. They have legitimate questions about whether the president should continue his campaign, and I'll keep listening to people."Brown is up for re-election in November against Republican challenger Bernie Moreno, who came out on top in a crowded primary field earlier this year.
