RIGHT HERE ON WLWT. WELL, TODAY, A BIG SUCCESS. GRADERS ANNOUNCING A $30,000 DONATION TO THE RUTH LYONS CHILDREN’S FUND. AND THEY CAME BY WLWT TO PRESENT THE CHECK. THE SWEET SHOP PARTNERED WITH WLWT AND MERLIN AFTER RAISING PROCEEDS FROM THE SALE OF THE FIRST COLLECTIBLE ROOKWOOD POTTERY ORNAMENT. MERLIN WAS A PARTNER IN THE FUNDRAISER EFFORTS, AND PART OF THE PROCEEDS WERE ALSO FROM CONEY ISLAND’S LAST NIGHT OF LIGHTS EVENT. CHIP GREATER SAYS THAT THE IMPACT GETS BIGGER EVERY YEAR. THIS YEAR, WE HIT IT OUT OF THE PARK WITH THE ORNAMENT FROM ROOKWOOD POTTERY AND SO SUPER EXCITED TO BE ABLE TO PRESENT THE CHECK FOR OVER $30,000 THIS YEAR. SO OVER ALL THE YEARS, IT’S GREAT. Graeter's Ice Cream announced a $30,000 donation to the Ruth Lyons Children's Fund on Thursday.Representatives with the company stopped by WLWT on Thursday to present the check.The sweet shop partnered with WLWT and Moerlein after raising proceeds from the sale of the first "Collectable Rookwood Pottery Ornament."Moerlein was a partner in the fundraiser efforts, and part of the proceeds were also from Coney Island's last Night of Lights event.Graeter's chief of retail operations said the impact gets bigger every year."This year we hit it out of the park with the ornament from Rookwood Pottery and so super excited to be able to present the check for over $30,000 this year," Graeter said.Since the partnership started in 2011, Graeter's has helped raise over $200,000 for the Ruth Lyons Children's Fund.
