FC Cincinnati players earn MLS honors after convincing win over Inter Miami
Several FC Cincinnati players and head coach Pat Noonan are garnering recognition from Major League Soccer after a resounding 6-1 win over Inter Miami CF on Saturday night.The win at TQL Stadium vaulted Cincinnati to the top of the MLS table in the race for the Supporters' Shield.On Monday, Noonan and reigning MLS Most Valuable Player Luciano Acosta were named to the MLS Team of the Matchday for Matchday 25.Acosta registered a goal and two assists as he helped lead FCC to a convincing win over the previously first-place Miami club. For the season, Acosta now has 27 goal contributions and leads the league in assists.Additionally, FCC's Yuya Kubo and Luca Orellano were named to the Team of the Matchday bench for their contributions in Saturday's win.The 30-year-old Kubo scored twice in the victory, five matches after his three-goal performance lifted FCC to a win over San Jose.Orellano, who was recently named to the 2024 MLS All-Star roster along with Acosta and Miles Robinson, netted two assists in the win on Saturday.Cincinnati's six-goal output Saturday is the most it has scored in an MLS match this season and marks the third time in six games that it scored at least four goals.FC Cincinnati will continue a three-match homestand on Saturday as it welcomes Charlotte FC to TQL Stadium. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m.
