Editorial: Bengals remarkable season brings Cincinnati community together
There's a movement happening in Cincinnati and the Tri-State that is being talked about across our nation.
It began on a patch of grass 100 yards long back in September.
The Cincinnati Bengals 2021 season has invigorated our region.
The successful formula has been pretty simple, 9 to 1 equals touchdowns and wins.
And that has transformed us from a community saying "why not us" to one saying "it is us,"
QB Joe Burrow said after the Bengals beat the Titans, "We're tired of the underdog narrative."
While Burrow was talking about the team, he really speaks for all of us.
It's time for Greater Cincinnati to shed that "underdog" label and spread the positive things happening here.
We live in a great community, filled with booming businesses, incredible universities and vibrant arts and entertainment.
Let's show the same "swagger" that resulted in the Bengals first playoff win in three decades.
Let's show the same confidence that resulted in a road playoff victory for the first time ever.
We have a lot to be proud of about Cincinnati.
You know it, and now with the Bengals playoff run, the nation knows it.
Our community is already a winner regardless of the outcome of the AFC championship game.
Only the Chiefs stand in the way of the Bengals returning to the super bowl.
And, as the saying goes, "who dey think gonna beat them Bengals?"
Certainly not the chiefs!
