Furniture Fair hosts golf outing to raise money in fight against blood cancer
WLWT and Furniture Fair partnered Tuesday morning in the fight against blood cancer.
The 16th annual Furniture Fair Golf Outing, benefiting the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, took place Tuesday at the Shaker Run Golf Club in Lebanon.
The outing featured a golf scramble, various on-course games, raffle and auction items and lunch.
Furniture Fair first started the event after a close friend of the company contracted Leukemia. She survived her battle, thanks in part to the research supported by the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.
"The Furniture Fair Golf Outing is more than just a sporting event; it's an opportunity for our community to come together in support of a cause that is near and dear to our hearts," said Bill Daniels, owner of Furniture Fair. "Over the past sixteen years, we have raised over $1.6 million for LLS, and our goal this year is to surpass the $2 million mark.
Tuesday's outing raised more than $120,000. Furniture Fair said it hopes to bring in more money for LLS through other events scheduled later this year.
