Catherine Liberta

Catherine Liberta joined the WJCL 22 Storm Tracker Weather Team as the Weekend Morning Meteorologist in June 2023. She graduated from the University of Oklahoma with a Bachelor of Science degree in Meteorology and a minor in Broadcast Meteorology in May of 2023.

She is originally from Silver Spring, Maryland but vacationed in Hilton Head with her family many times and loves the area. Growing up as a competitive Irish dancer, Catherine is very excited for St. Patrick’s Day and hopes to put her Irish dancing to use!

During college, Catherine was active with OU Nightly, the University of Oklahoma’s student run newscast, as an on-air meteorologist, anchor, and producer. She was awarded 1st place for Personality Talent at the 2022-2023 Oklahoma Broadcast Education Association awards and 3rd place in the Television Weathercaster category at the 2022-2023 National Broadcast Education Association awards.

When she’s not at work, you can find Catherine on the golf course, spending time with her family and friends, going to concerts, cheering on the Oklahoma Sooners, and of course, still watching the weather!
