Greg Coy

Anchor/Reporter

Greg Coy is the weekday anchor and investigative reporter for WJCL 22 News. Greg WJCL joined in October of 2021. Greg grew up in New York City to West Indian parents. He takes pride in being “a first generation American.”

Prior to joining the WJCL team, Greg worked at WCVB, the Hearst flag ship station in Boston, MA. Most recently, he was the weekend anchor and investigative reporter for WHBQ in Memphis TN. Coy was a part of team of reporters that won a Regional Emmy, his second, for protests about police accountability and transparency. While in Memphis, Greg reported on the devastating Gatlinburg Fire, the arrest of Sherra Wright for the murder of her husband ex NBA star Lorenzen Wright and the need for a witness protection to help solve violent crimes.

Greg’s reporting has been awarded regional AP and SPJ awards during his time at WFSB in Hartford, CT. His assignments while working at CN8 News in Philadelphia, Pa included the 9-11 terror attacks, the Capitol Hill shooting, and the contested Philadelphia Mayoral election in 2003. Greg is a lifelong member of the National Association of Black Journalists.

When not working, you can find Greg trying to re-invent his golf game, being an active member of SGI USA, traveling the Caribbean and learning all there is to enjoy in Savannah and the Low Country.
