Tia Maggio

Meet Tia Maggio, an esteemed Multimedia Journalist who recently joined the WJCL 22 News Team in January of 2024 and reports for the 7 p.m. and 11 p.m. show Monday through Friday. With a passion for journalism and a warm and welcoming personality, Tia is dedicated to keeping the community informed and engaged.

Tia graduated from the University of Missouri in Columbia with a bachelors in broadcast journalism. M-I-Z! During her time in Columbia, she worked at KOMU 8 News as a Multimedia Journalist, Anchor, and Digital Producer. There, she passionately covered a variety of stories from investigative pieces to community-based pieces.

Born and raised in St. Louis, Tia brings a unique perspective to her reporting, combining her love for her new home in Savannah with the experiences and value she gained in the Midwest. Family, faith, and food are at the core of Tia’s life, and she believes in the power of those elements to bring people together and create a sense of community.

When Tia isn’t in the newsroom, you’ll find her taking long walks in Savannah’s beautiful parks, working out, and hanging out with friends. She also plans to enjoy the gorgeous Tybee Island beaches, a luxury she didn’t have before in Missouri!

With her engaging personality, dedication to journalism, and love for her new home, Tia is excited to bring the news to the people of Savannah. Whether she’s reporting local events, sharing heartwarming stories, or celebrating the achievements of the community, Tia’s goal is to inform and inspire while fostering a sense of connection and community.
