Nicole is headed toward coastal Georgia bringing heaving winds to the area, including Tybee Island.
Heavy winds coming to the area will allow waves to become stronger, which is why city officials are urging everyone to stay away from the water.
" I think we are expecting like 13-foot breakers, which is extreme for here," said Chief Jordan Johnson from Tybee Island Fire Department. "If anyone can see the water with the wind blowing the way it is, we have really large waves and rough conditions."
Tybee is expecting winds over 30 miles an hour; Johnson is hoping the cold winds will help keep people away.
"Luckily enough, it is a little cool out; it is very dangerous water conditions," Johnson said.
Outside of Heavy winds and waves, Johnson says they are anticipating some flooding on the impact weather day.
