RIVER KEEPER FOR A LEGAL ACTION TO KEEP THE OGEECHEE RIVER SAFE. LIKE MANY COMMUNITIES IN OUR AREA, BUSINESS AND INDUSTRY IS BOOMING IN EFFINGHAM COUNTY. WITH THAT GROWTH COMES THE NEED FOR A QUALITY WORKFORCE. THE EFFINGHAM COUNTY INDUSTRIAL DEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY GETTING SET TO HOST AN EMPLOYMENT EXPO TUESDAY IN RINCON. THE EXPO FEATURES A DOZEN INDUSTRIES BASED IN EFFINGHAM INCLUDING SEWON AMERICA, THE LARGEST PRIVATE EMPLOYER IN THE COUNTY, GEORGIA PACIFIC, AND HOME- GROWN COMPANIES LIKE EDWARDS INTERIORS AND AERODYNAMIC AVIATION, ALL LOOKING FOR EMPLOYEES OF ALL SKILL LEVELS. <> "VAST MAJORITY OF OUR RESIDENTS CURRENTLY COMMUTE OUT FOR WORK EVERY DAY. AND SO THE GOAL HERE IS JUST THAT WE WANT OUR RESIDENTS TO KNOW ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITIES THAT ARE AVAILABLE IN THEIR BACKYARD. AND THESE OPPORTUNITIES, AGAIN, RANGE FROM ENTRY LEVEL TO SUPERVISOR. IT'S REALLY AN EVENT FOR ANY TYPE OF PERSON AT ANY STAGE OF THEIR CAREER TO COME CHECK OUT WHAT WE HAVE GOING ON HERE IN EFFINGHAM COUNTY." THE EXPO IS SET FOR TUESDAY. The Effingham County Industrial Development Authority and WorkSource Coastal want to help you find your next job.The two teaming up for the Effingham Employment Expo on Tuesday, June 18. The expo is set for 4-7 p.m. at Rincon Elementary School.The expo features over a dozen industrial employers based in Effingham County including Sewon America.Sewon America, creating 740 new jobs in Rincon and investing more than $300 million in a new manufacturing facility. Sewon will produce electric vehicle body parts for original equipment manufacturers, including Hyundai Motor Group Metaplant America. Other participating employers include: AeroDynamic Aviation, Americold, DHL Logistics, Edwards Interiors Aerospace, Georgia Pacific, Halstead International, Lineage Logistics, Perdue, Podium Logistics, Quantix and Shaw Industries."A vast majority of our residents currently commute out for work every day," said Jessica Hood, Vice President of the Effingham County Industrial Development Authority. "We want our residents to know about the opportunities that are available in their backyard. And these opportunities, again, range from entry level to supervisor. It's really an event for any type of person at any stage of their career to come check out what we have going on here in Effingham County."Industrial employers will be hiring for a variety of positions during the expo and interviews will be available. You're asked to bring multiple copies of your resume and professional dress is encouraged but not required.Flacos Tacos and Jenni’s Treats on the Street will be on site. The first 50 participants who attend and complete a survey will receive a $15 food voucher for the food trucks.
