Students at Snelson Golden Middle School showcase dances and history lessons they learned.

"I want them to learn, and I want them to embrace more than just what we have here. So, and that diversity, too, is so important," said Sheina Medina.That was why Sheina Medina decided to take her students at Snelson Golden Middle School on a journey of Hispanic culture. "The kids have learned so much and have asked more questions than I expected them to," Medina said. "They got to learn the music and a little bit of the history and different countries that we talk about others, you know, places like Chile and Peru."Ameenah Harris was one of the students on stage, showing her Latin American dance skills."I wanted to participate in it because I think it's important to learn about different cultures besides my own. I feel happy that they accepted me in a way to do it," Harris said. "At first, I was a little hesitant about it, but after I saw some of my friends doing that, I got a bit more confidence, so I wanted to do it as well.""They worked really hard, and I was really proud of that. So for me, it's always really emotional, but just exciting to see everyone's faces on the stage and off stage," Medina said.
