8 May 2023

Acclaimed choreographer, dancer, actress and philanthropist Sherrie Silver will take to the stage of the fourth WHO Walk the Talk on Sunday, 21 May 2023 in Geneva, Switzerland.

Sherrie is joining the walk to help WHO raise awareness about the effort to deliver quality health for all people everywhere, to celebrate the importance of partnership during WHO's 75th anniversary and to encourage people to get outside, have fun and exercise together.

"I am so excited to bring my moves to the Walk the Talk event and see all the smiles on people's faces when we dance together for Health for All,” said Sherrie. “I believe dance and art offer the best ways for people to be healthy, while having fun with friends and and I'm so happy that WHO offers opportunities like this to bring people together to celebrate the importance of health.”

Originally from Rwanda, Sherrie's mission is to "educate the world about African cultures through the art of dance." She was the recipient of the MTV Video Music Award for Best Choreography in 2018 as choreographer for Childish Gambino's music video for his song, "This is America," which has accumulated nearly 900 million views on YouTube. Sherrie has also worked with Rihanna, Harry Styles, and many others.

Outside of entertainment, Sherrie is heavily involved in philanthropy and volunteer work. She is a Goodwill Ambassador for the UN's International Fund for Agriculture (IFAD), while also heading her own charity, which provides housing, health insurance, and school programs for underprivileged children across Rwanda.
