Meaghan Mackey

Traffic Anchor

Meaghan Mackey is the Traffic Anchor on WESH 2 News Sunrise and CW 18 airing weekdays from 4:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.

Meaghan delivers real-time traffic reports impacting Central Florida drivers, helping them navigate the interstates, highways, and roads spanning the vast region. In addition, she digs into all transportation issues in the community that impact drivers, air travelers, train and bus passengers, pedestrians, bicyclists, cruise passengers, and tourists visiting attractions and the space coast.

Prior to joining WESH 2 News and CW 18 in August 2022, she worked as a weekday morning reporter in Mobile, Alabama at WKRG News 5. During her time there, she discovered the magic of Mardi Gras and reported on how the COVID-19 pandemic impacted the annual tradition. She also reported on the front lines of one of the busiest hurricane seasons to date along the Gulf Coast and delivered live, round-the-clock developments, after a deadly highway collapse during Hurricane Ida. During her two-year tenure in the Port City, she also served as the primary traffic anchor fill-in and discovered her passion for transportation.

Meaghan began her career in Redding, California at KRCR News Channel 7. During her time there, she was a multimedia journalist and covered the deadliest and most destructive wildfires the Golden State has ever seen.

Meaghan received a B.A. in Journalism from the University of Nevada-Reno.

She is originally from Sacramento, California and interned at WESH 2's sister station KCRA 3 when she was in college.

During her senior year, she discovered her love for travel when she studied abroad and circumnavigated the globe with the world’s premier shipboard education program, Semester at Sea. While sailing through the Atlantic, Pacific, and Indian Oceans, she made stops and traveled extensively throughout Europe, Africa, and Asia. Some of her favorite memories include backpacking across the Great Wall of China, visiting the Taj Mahal, and finding the best sushi rolls in Tokyo.

Meaghan visited Orlando every year growing up when she was an all-star cheerleader to compete at the ESPN Wide World of Sports.

She is thrilled to be close to relatives who live in Central Florida as well as her twin brother who lives in Tampa.

When she's not covering traffic, Meaghan enjoys spending time with her friends and loved ones, taking a barre workout class, traveling, and lounging by the pool.
