Anchor

Sheldon Dutes is an award-winning journalist who's excited to cover stories across the region where he grew up.

Sheldon returned home to Orlando as a weekday anchor/reporter for WESH 2 in December 2020.

He previously worked as morning co-anchor at WISN-TV, WESH's sister-station in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Prior to that, he worked as a general assignment reporter at WNBC in New York. Sheldon also reported for WBAL-TV, in Baltimore, MD and WCSC in Charleston, SC. He started his broadcast journalism career working behind the scenes as a production assistant at WNDU-TV in South Bend, Indiana.

Sheldon graduated from the University of Notre Dame with a B.A. in American Studies and received his master's degree in Corporate Communication from Marquette University. Since 2018, he has served on the advisory board for Notre Dame's journalism program and continues to represent his undergraduate classmates as senior class president for various alumni engagements.

Since moving back to Orlando, Sheldon volunteers his time as a board member for United Arts of Central Florida. He also serves on the board of directors for the Adult Literacy League where he volunteers as a tutor.

When he’s not volunteering or reporting the news, Sheldon enjoys reading, traveling internationally and spending time with his family and friends.
