Dave McDaniel

Dave McDaniel has worked with WESH 2 News since 1988.

Dave covers Seminole County primarily and has also specialized in issues involving the environment and transportation.

A graduate of Iowa State University in 1982, Dave actually started reporting on radio in 1979 before moving into the field of television journalism in 1981. He worked as a reporter at KWCH-TV in Wichita, Kansas; KCRG-TV in Cedar Rapids, Iowa; and KCAU-TV in Sioux City, Iowa.

A winner of several awards over the years, including a shared Peabody with the WESH 2 News staff for "Building Homes: Building Problems," Dave also has contributed to several Emmy-winning programs on WESH 2 News.

Dave scuba dives, motorcycles, rides horses, bowls and enjoys days out on his boat, the "Station Break."

Dave and his wife, Julie, spend a lot of time outdoors, travel to a few NASCAR races each year, and enjoy time with their two dogs and a horse.
