WESH 2 to broadcast the OUC Orlando Half Marathon
WESH 2 has been named the official broadcast partner for the OUC Orlando Half Marathon presented by Land Rover Orlando. WESH 2 will produce and air the first-ever live broadcast of the Orlando Half Marathon on Saturday, Dec. 2 beginning at 7 a.m.Pre-race coverage will start at 5 a.m. during WESH 2 News Sunrise. The race broadcast will be hosted by Jason Guy, Meredith McDonough and Nancy Alvarez, along with Jeff Dengate, Runner’s World Magazine’s “Runner-in-Chief,” who will provide expert commentary.Related: OUC Half Marathon: Everything you need to knowFor the last 13 weeks, WESH 2 News anchors Stewart Moore, Michelle Imperato and Sheldon Dutes have been training for the race and have provided special news segments under the title “Ready for Race Day,” sharing runner stories and advice for those training for the OUC Half Marathon.In addition to the live broadcast on WESH 2 and wesh.com, coverage will be simulcast on CW18 and the Very Local app.There will also be a dedicated finish line camera available for viewing on wesh.com so no one misses their runner crossing the finish line. “We are thrilled to be the official broadcast partner of the OUC Half Marathon,” said John Soapes, President and General Manager of WESH 2. “Broadcasting this race live on-air, and on our digital platforms will provide the opportunity for all of Central Florida to see one of the great sporting events in our community.” View the broadcast promotion by clicking on this link.
