Scottie Scheffler said the best word to describe his week at the PGA Championship would be "hectic."And that might be an understatement.The world’s No. 1 golfer fired a 4-under-par 67 on Thursday in the opening round and then was arrested after a traffic incident outside the gates of Valhalla Golf Club on Friday morning. He was released and returned for his tee time and then shot 66.But on Saturday, Scheffler had his first over-par round of the year with a 73. He responded on Sunday with a 6-under 65 and will post another top-10 finish in a major championship.The reigning Masters champion finished at 13-under-par."I think 'hectic' would probably be a good description,” he said. “Overall right now, how I'm feeling, I'm fairly tired, definitely a lot more tired than I have been finishing some other tournaments. But I'm proud of today how we went out there and fought. I got off to kind of a slow start and I was able to kind of get some momentum and post a good round and give myself some good momentum. Yesterday obviously was quite frustrating and a bit of a different day, but overall proud of how I fought this week.“Was fortunate to be out here competing, doing what I love. Out on the golf course, the support this week that I got from the fans was tremendous. The support I got from the players and caddies and everybody inside the ropes was tremendous. So I'm very grateful to have the community that we have out here on the road and to have their support,” he said.Scheffler started the final round with a bogey, but made birdie at 5 and 8, and then had five birdies on the back nine.“At the moment, you know, I put my head down on the scorer's table and I think I about fell asleep, so I'm just kind of just wondering what time bedtime is,” he said. “I'm trying to figure out how quickly I can get home from here and, yeah, that's pretty much it. I think I'm just fairly tired and ready to get home.”As for his charges, Jefferson County Attorney Mike O’Connell said Sunday evening that he has made no decisions about his case, so as of now, they still stand.“The Jefferson County Attorney’s Office has made no decisions regarding the case of Mr. Scheffler. We continue to gather information in the case and will review and proceed accordingly," O'Connell said. He's charged with second-degree assault of police officer (felony), third-degree criminal mischief, reckless driving and Disregarding traffic signals from an officer directing traffic.
