'Red Hot and Boom' lights up Altamonte Springs with explosive performances and fireworks display
BALLOT, THIS YEAR’S RED HOT AND BOOM IS JUST ABOUT TO WRAP UP AT CRANES ROOST PARK. ORGANIZERS HAD TO PAUSE THINGS JUST FOR A LITTLE BIT, THANKS TO SOME RAIN, BUT THAT DIDN’T LAST TOO LONG. WESH 2’S HAYLEY CROMBLEHOLME WAS THERE FOR IT ALL. HAYLEY HOW WAS IT TONIGHT? OH, IT WAS A BLAST. AND I MEAN THAT QUITE LITERALLY. YOU COULD SEE THE PEOPLE FILING OUT BEHIND ME. IT WAS PRETTY PACKED HERE AND THERE WAS A BRIEF PAUSE TONIGHT BECAUSE OF SOME WEATHER MOVING THROUGH, BUT IT DIDN’T KEEP PEOPLE FROM STICKING AROUND FOR MORE BANDS. AND A MORE THAN 20 MINUTE LONG FIREWORKS DISPLAY. THE FIREWORKS WENT OFF OVER A PACKED CROWD AT CRANES ROOST PARK. ORGANIZERS WERE ESTIMATING AROUND 150,000 TO 200,000 PEOPLE TO BE HERE TONIGHT. THE FIREWORKS CAME AFTER AN EVENING OF LIVE PERFORMANCES. WAS PUT ON PAUSE FOR A BIT DUE TO WEATHER PASSING THROUGH, BUT THE BANDS GOT BACK ON STAGE AND PEOPLE SAID STICKING AROUND FOR THE REST OF THE NIGHT WAS WELL WORTH IT. I JUST LIKE THE COMMUNITY ALL THE PEOPLE, NO ISSUES, NO TROUBLE. UM, AND I LOVE THE FIREWORKS. LIKE THE WHOLE EVENT IN GENERAL. I LOVE IT. AND THAT WOMAN WAS ONE OF A HANDFUL OF PEOPLE WE TALKED TO WHO SAID, COMING HERE IS AN ANNUAL TRADITION FOR THEM. AND WITH DIFFERENT BANDS PERFORMING EVERY YEAR, IT’S ALWAYS A LITTLE DIFFERENT THAN THE YEAR BEFORE. LIVE IN ALTAMONT
