2 killed in overnight shooting at Osceola County apartment complex; deputies continue investigation
Two people were killed and another person was injured in an overnight shooting at an apartment complex, the Osceola County Sheriff's Office said.
The shooting unfolded a little after midnight at the Rapallo apartment complex, located at the 3000 block of Marta Circle in Kissimmee, which is near the intersection of John Young Parkway and Osceola Parkway.
According to Sheriff Marco Lopez, deputies responded to the apartment complex on Tuesday morning after reports of shots fired. There, deputies found two men, who Lopez says were in their 20s or 30s, with gunshot wounds.
One was pronounced dead at the scene, while the other succumbed to his injuries at the hospital. One has been identified as 19-year-old Adrian Joel Gonzales.
Deputies found another man with a gunshot wound in the bushes, who Lopez identified as a person of interest. According to Lopez, that man is in custody and currently in the hospital.
The sheriff says deputies are still reviewing evidence but adds that this appears to be an isolated incident with all parties accounted for. There is no threat to the public at this time, as Lopez says the parties were known to each other.
Those involved in the altercation were not from the area, Lopez says.
Information about what led to the shooting was not immediately made available, but Lopez says the incident is most likely drug-related.
Osceola County deputies have been at the Rapallo apartment complex all morning, continuing their investigation. Lopez says there were many shots fired and that weapons were recovered from the scene.
