Visitors at a beach in Destin were surprised to see a bear swimming in the water. Videos showed the bear in the water before making its way back to shore. Several groups of people were enjoying time at the beach when the bear was spotted. One beachgoer can be heard saying, "It's a bear" as they saw the animal moving through the water. Another visitor at the beach said, "I guess he's on vacation too though."This hasn't been the only recent bear sighting. On June 4, a bear was seen about 50 feet high in a tree at Lake Eola Park in Orlando. As more bears have been spotted recently, the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission recommended the following steps for reducing conflict with bears:Remove food that may attract a bear to the area.Avoid putting out the trash the night before pickup, and instead put it out the morning of pickup.If you see a bear, give it space and don't approach it.FWC said you can call their Wildlife Alert Hotline at 888-404-3922 if you see an injured or dead bear or if you feel threatened by a bear.
