AdventHealth Central Florida has program for women who develop heart conditions during pregnancy
Nearly 1 in 3 pregnancy-related deaths in the U.S. are due to cardiovascular problems.
AdventHealth Central Florida Division has a program for women who develop heart conditions during pregnancy. It’s called the Mother’s Heart Wise program.
AdventHealth started it as a referral-based program currently in the pilot phase.
It’s moving into phase two and will also have a virtual component, AdventHealth said. The goal is to prevent bigger issues in women down the line since research has shown women who develop various conditions during pregnancy can have heart issues later in life.
Mother’s Heart Wise is a program led by two of our physicians, Dr. Patricia Guerrero, a cardiologist and medical director of the AdventHealth Cardiovascular Wellness and Prevention Program and Dr. Ashely Hill, OBGYN at AdventHealth, in collaboration with our women’s navigator, Doreen Forsythe.
