Governments and technology companies cannot tackle this crime without society-wide support.
Civil society organisations play multiple, vital roles. Some support victims and survivors. Some advocate for improved protection for children. Others work to build better tools to identify and track illegal and abusive material.
To ensure the interests of all our members are represented, we have put in place a number of membership reference groups. These groups provide opportunities for members to drive a global response, highlight good and emerging practice and influence policy discussions and WeProtect Global Alliance’s outputs. This includes a civil society reference group, which meets twice a year, to reflect on challenges and best practices to inform and shape the response to child sexual exploitation and abuse online. The civil society reference group is chaired by Guillaume Landry, the civil society representative on the Alliance Global Policy Board and the Executive Director of ECPAT International.
