David Williams

David Williams is NewsCenter 5’s weekend evening meteorologist, joining WCVB’s StormTeam 5 in August 2022.

Before moving to Boston, David worked in Richmond, VA as a full-time weekend meteorologist at WRIC-TV. During his time in Central Virginia, David forecasted tornadoes, major winter storms, and multiple tropical systems—including the historic Hurricane Ida, which resulted in significant flooding and confirmed tornadoes.

David began his career in Amarillo, Texas as a weekend meteorologist and multi-media journalist at KAMR. With a viewing area that includes the panhandle’s “tornado alley,” David storm chased, reported on drought conditions, and forecasted impactful winter weather. He also reported on multiple wildfires within the region.

Born and raised in Queens, New York, David first developed his love for weather watching winter storms produce feet of snow. David then moved to Charlotte, where he received his bachelor’s degree of Science in Meteorology from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte with a minor in Theatre.

When not tracking the radar, you can find David watching new film releases at the movie theater or walking around Castle Island with his wife and their dog, Shadow.
