Driving a Duck Boat

Anyone who has ever taken a ride on Boston Duck Tours through the city and into the Charles River knows that part of the shtick involves allowing some passengers, usually children, to sit at the helm.

During one recent tour, a famous Boston native took a turn at the wheel.

When his chance to take the wheel came, he did what any big kid would do: asked to honk the horn.

Visiting bar where he once worked

Before rising to fame on reality television, Rob Mariano worked slinging drinks in a popular bar near Boston's TD Garden.

Mariano returned to The Greatest Bar for an episode of his Very Local show, Boston Rob Does Beantown.

"The last time I saw you, you were going off to do some reality show," said Billy Fairweather. "Whatever happened to that thing anyway?"

"It worked out OK," Mariano said, jokingly.

Howling with wolves

The Wolf Hollow in Ipswich, Massachusetts has been looking after North American gray wolves for over 30 years and is open for the public to walk through with one of their educators.

"They're eating better than I am on a fairly consistent basis," said Kenny of the meals he serves to the wolves. "I come out here, I'm thawing out Cornish game hens, and sirloin steak that's been grass-fed in Maine."

Doing graffiti

Graffiti Alley is located in Central Square, linking Massachusetts Avenue with the Central Square Farmers Market. It's formally known as Richard B. “Rico” Modica Way.

That's where Rob Mariano, better known as Boston Rob, met artist Jennifer Medrano.

Learning to sail

Newport, RI, also known as the “City-by-the-Sea” has a long-standing reputation as one of the top places to sail in the world. Since its founding in 1639, Newporters have set sail for trade, pleasure, and sport.

Newport Sailing School and Tours is family owned and operated, established in 1965, offering sailing instruction for people of all ages and levels of experience.

"It’s the sailing capital of the world, it’s the home of the America’s Cup for approximately 65 years,” said Michael J. Marmella Jr., who runs Newport Sailing School and Tours. “The most important thing is reading the wind. Newport is one of the few places that pretty much always has wind.”
